A NEW HOME & EXCITING RELAUNCH FOR ODSD ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 24 @ 5.30pm

The choir started as an eight-week pilot project designed to help you find your voice, experience the joy of singing in a choir, meet new friends, and unite the Docklands community in song. The purpose remains the same and the choir is growing steadily. No auditions required. Just come prepared for heaps of fun!

An enjoyment of singing, a love of music and a desire to have a good time is all you need to participate and join the choir.  We sing popular music, contemporary favourites and some well known classics.

Our highly talented, energetic and engaging Musical Director, Shaun Islip, brings a wealth of musical experience and skill to the group. His charismatic personality ensures a most enjoyable evening.

There is an attendance fee of $12 each session (discounted books of prepaid tickets available upon request) and a membership fee of $85 paid annually.

The choir meets on Wednesday evenings at our NEW HOME – THE MISSION TO SEAFARERS VICTORIA – 717 Flinders St, Docklands VIC 3008from 5.30pm to 6.30pm.

WE ARE EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE A NEW HOME FOR

OPEN DOOR SINGERS DOCKLANDS!

MISSION TO SEAFAREARS – A VICTORIAN HERITAGE LISTED BUILDING

In 2017, the Mission to Seafarers celebrated 100 years in the Heritage-listed building at 717 Flinders Street, Docklands. The enchanting Arts and Crafts style design offers a unique venue for functions and events of all styles and sizes. With full bar facilities, commercial kitchen, catering options and beverage packages, all within a short stroll from the CBD and with easy access to public transport.

THE NORLA DOME

The Norla Dome is a feature of the heritage-listed building and, originally designed as a gymnasium for seafarers, is perfect for exhibitions and public events. The original exposed brick forms the surrounding walls, while the towering concrete dome creates a ceiling with great impact.

Seating up to 100 people for a comfortable sit down dinner and 150 guests for a cocktail style event, the magnificent dome measures 17m in diameter and is a unique and impressive space with natural lighting that makes it a space that people come to experience, and not just look at. Live music and site specific performances or installations work especially well in this one-of-a-kind extraordinary space.
